You may have noticed that on our Instagram page, we’ve been introducing you to some of our wonderful Celebrants.
Among many other wonderful details, we now know that Bec Mayo loves that post ceremony hug with her couples the best of all and that Emily Rawlings always has a bottle of Champagne in the fridge ready to celebrate at any given moment!
Two sentiments that we wholeheartedly endorse.
We also asked our celebrants what the “Best Thing About Being a Member of TCS” is, and well, the answers were amazing!
The core value of The Celebrant Society is Community Over Competition and we are very proud that these responses reflect that beautifully.
Being a Celebrant is largely a One Person Show, but with our Facebook group, Zoom chats and catch ups, we are able to foster an incredible community that shares it’s knowledge and supports each other at every stage.
Whether you are a new Celebrant or one who has been celebrating love stories for a while, we are always here to help!
And have fun along the way!
“The friendships and support.
TCS has made me a better Celebrant. Everyone is so open to share ideas and collectively we are changing wedding ceremonies in Australia to be more modern, inclusive and everyone’s favourite buzz word – authentic!
I’m also a big, big fan of our catch ups, parties and social events, TCSers do these really, really well!”- Bec Mayo
“I love the depth and breadth of knowledge.
Recently the team really helped in a complete pickle of a situation. I genuinely didn’t think I’d be able to register a marriage. Within hours they sent me a template and way to approach it. All sorted!” –Prue Tackle
“The camaraderie, even just on social media, especially being based in a regional area.
The absolute unselfishness of everyone, nothing ever seems to go unanswered, the sharing of ideas and ceremony dates.
The leadership group are fabulous and I just think it’s a pretty cool little club!” -Linda Savy
“The collective experience in the room.
There’s 100’s of years of experience amongst the TCS community (by virtue of the number of celebrants not the average age of the group!) and with that comes so many tried and tested ideas – some that worked and others that didn’t.
Knowing if things don’t go to plan you have a whole collective of celebrants to pick you up and dust you off is priceless.” –Liz Shaw
“The endless support from all members.
There is always someone ready to chat about couples, writers block, technical support or even just some friendly banter. I have met the best people in this community.
We all come in as new celebrants but we find “our people” in TCS.” –Erica Evans
“The freedom to ask for help, admit wrong doings, offer help, share ideas and call on friends when you need back up. All without fear of judgement or rejection.” –Sheridan Newnham
“The best thing about being a member of the TCS is the safety net and community of wisdom!
I couldn’t do it without you all!” –Emily Rawlings
So apart from all the awesomeness above, what else does The Celebrant Society offer?
Aside from great butts and a killer sense of humour?
We kid. We actually have a lot of bang for each membership to The Wedding Society. Including annual conferences and retreats, monthly zoom catch ups for members to socialise and ask celebrant-related questions, Innovative Learning through regular courses, conversations and workshops. Plus….
Private Facebook Page – Our Society Facebook Forums are a sanctuary for members to take a break from their virtual offices and have a chat, crack a bad joke or whinge about their procrastination without judgement. Well, with minimal judgement.
Directory Listings – Our members get a FREE Essential Listing! in our Wedding Directory, where hundreds of awesome couples search for legendary wedding professionals in their area.
Importantly included in a membership is Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance.
We offer Discounts to Industry related products and Government Representative. Our Directors Anna and Sarah visit with the Attorney General’s Department twice annually. At these meetings we help to effect changes to laws, regulations, and professional Codes of Conduct regarding marriage in Australia.
If you’ve been waiting to join TCS or couldn’t decide if we were the right space for you, hopefully this has helped convince you!
