ROXY AND DEE’S SOCIAL MEDIA SCAVENGER HUNT; SYDNEY

You may have heard that myself (Dee) and my fellow Local Leader, Roxy recently took to the skies and took Roxy’s excellent Social Media Workshop on a TCS Roadshow!

Our first stop, and our enthusiastic reunion, was Sydney.

I do love the unmistakable buzz that is in the air in Sydney! You feel as soon as you arrive.

Behind the Scenes with Dee and Mandi.

Roxy and I based ourselves in Surry Hills, and immediately, started familiarising ourselves with our location and it’s photo opportunities. By this, I mean, we caught up over several pints of beer and dinner at a local pub!

What an epic line up of amazing celebrants joined us in Sydney .

Monday was workshop day and Roxy found the delightful, quirky and perfectly TCS, Bustle Studios

I’m not going to lie; Roxy and I were fussing about nervously preparing as we awaited the arrival of our Sydney (and broader) based celebrants to join us.

Thankfully, newly appointed Local Leader, Alison Pickle, arrived early for a secret congratulatory hug from us both before the workshop started! Cue excited giggles from the three of us!

Alison Pickel, newly appointed NSW Local Leader looking glorious.

With celebrants in place, hugs and introductions completed, we sat back and were taken on a social media journey by Roxy.

Now, I know that I am biased, but I LOVE this workshop by Roxy! Roxy has found a way to demystify social media and actually make it fun. I promise…!  Part of this genius (no, I’m not biased!) of this workshop is going home with content and ideas for posting that very day.

Roxy ensures that Anna’s legs are placed just so at our Social Media Scavenger Hunt.

Despite Sydney’s weather turning on us, we headed out into the very windy streets to capture content.

Now, this is where I earn my ticket…! I love nothing more than getting celebrants to pose against a fine wall. Jump on a swing. Hide in the foliage. Walk to nowhere in particular, but with purpose.

What an epic line up of amazing celebrants joined us in Sydney Winifred Weddings “OMG – I look incredible” We totally agree!

Wedding day, we are all dressed up and lucky enough to have professional photographers capture us doing the job we love. However, the purpose of this workshop is to capture those casual, fun, ‘this is me’ photos. And I happen to love encouraging (pushing…?) celebrants to embrace the silly and have fun.

Roxy and I were doing our very best Annie Leibovitz, taking photos of Anna, Alison, Mandi and Kate as we ran around Surry Hills. Or, more accurately were propelled by the wind!

Kate Eloise Celebrant ‘swinging’ in to taking fun photos.

In doing so, we captured great content and had SO much fun!

I think you’ll agree that the photos speak for themselves….

To reiterate though, to quote Anna, “OMG! I look INCREDIBLE!” Yes, Anna you do!

Anna also backed this up with, “WOW! You guys are incredible” Which Roxy and I may add to our Instagram bios!

The fabulous Marry Me Mandi.

After the workshop, we headed to another Surry Hills watering hole to debrief and meet up with more TCS Members. As celebrants, we are mostly sole traders so the chance to have drinks and dinner with colleagues, doesn’t happen too often. When it does, it is often loud, full of hugs and endless conversations.

Being ‘blown away’ by the wind and fun in Surry Hills, Sydney.

Roxy, Frida the Flamingo and I ended the night with midnight snacks and hearts full!

Thank you so much Sydney for ‘blowing us away’ (lame windy weather reference!) with your hospitality, enthusiasm and fun.

Next stop….Adelaide!
