Hey, I’m Melissa—a Brisbane-based Authorised Marriage Celebrant and Wedding MC, experienced event manager, professional bringer of the laughs and devoted Labrador lover.

Brisbane is home, but I happily travel throughout Moreton Bay, the Sunshine Coast, Scenic Rim, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, heck all of Queensland for that matter, Northern New South Wales, Victoria and Australia-wide to get wonderful humans married.

I became an authorised Marriage Celebrant in 2021 and have now been part of over 800 weddings. I’m also an award-winning Celebrant and MC who works full-time doing what I genuinely love—creating personal, relaxed and memorable wedding ceremonies.

I’m most definitely not the lovely, softly spoken funeral lady. Don’t get me wrong—they do an amazing job, but that’s simply not me or my vibe. My ceremonies are warm, romantic and meaningful, with just the right dose of humour and animation to set the scene and get the vibe right. Those genuine smiles, happy tears and unexpected giggles often create the very best wedding photos and memories.

I take the time to really get to know my couples and understand their story, so their ceremony feels natural, personal and unmistakably them. Guests regularly ask how long I’ve known the couple—or assume I’m a family friend rather than the wedding celebrant. That’s when I know I’ve done my job properly.

With my extensive background in event management, I’m highly organised, calm under pressure and always watching the finer details. I’ve been known to straighten ties, fix pocket squares, pin boutonnieres, tame flyaway hairs, stitch gowns and jackets back together, fluff trains and quietly solve problems before anyone else even notices them.

And if you see a discreet dot on the floor or a golf tee in the grass, it isn’t an accident—it marks exactly where you need to stand to be perfectly centred beneath your wedding arbour. It’s all about making your ceremony feel effortless and look fabulous in the photos.
