Married by Mel

Warm, authentic, young(ish) celebrant who would

Description

You're likely in the thick of wedding planning right now. What begins in a flurry of excitement can almost always cascade into an avalanche of overwhelm in the lead up to the big day. So many moving pieces, so many different opinions, so many things to reconcile along the way.

I know the booking of a celebrant can often come as an after thought - a "oh that's right, we've got to get someone there to make it legal" - and call me a bit biased, but believe me when I say that this gig is not as simple as it seems.

Whoever it is that you pass a microphone to on a wedding day has a BIG job ahead of them. Not only do they make you and your guests at ease, they run the show smoothly and efficiently, they interject a little well placed wit but read the room when the mood calls for otherwise, and they help you survive the inevitable hiccups along the way.

I believe in the power of words, just as much as the power of a well-placed pause. Some people you hand a mic to on a wedding day might just enjoy the glory of the limelight, but that has never been my scene. My job is to be there to warm your feet, help you overcome any blips and deliver a ceremony so authentic and warm that you won't even notice the Canberra chill.
