Joining a Celebrant Network, Institute, Society or Association

celebrant network or celebrant society ?

Should you join a Celebrant membership group or Celebrant Network?

Becoming a celebrant is (in our humble opinion) the best job in the world. While we could wax lyrical about it till the cows come home, it can be a little lonely at times, and when you’re working by yourself, for yourself, having a support network is worth it’s weight in gold.

This is where joining a membership group like The Celebrant Society (TCS) will make all the difference. We set up The Celebrant Society to  provide our members with resources up the wazoo, a closed Facebook group where you can ask anything without get any eye-rolls, networking opportunities (and casual coffees or cocktails so you have lots of celebuddies to lean on), as well as important tools that support our members to be the best they can be.

We offer practical benefits like access to celebrant insurance, which is crucial for protecting your business. If you are a registered celebrant, you can join The Celebrant Society and get celebrant insurance. Members of TCS receive access to professional indemnity and public liability insurance, providing security for their business operations.

We also offer training, annual conferences, workshops virtual and in-person, and so much more.  We think we’re pretty great, if we may say so ourselves.

Do you have to be part of a celebrant network or membership group?

No.  There’s no legal requirement for you to be part of a membership group, but we strongly suggest you do.

Imagine you’ve got a wedding booked, and you wake up, like Roxy, one of our Local Leaders did, with appendicitis one day.  Did Roxy panic about her wedding?  No.  Whilst laid up in the Emergency Department, she posted an S.O.S. in our closed Facebook group, and found a number of celebrants who were willing and able to cover her wedding.  She was able to transfer all documents to the new celebrant electronically, before informing the couple what had happened.

A potentially stressful situation averted, and although this kind of thing happens infrequently, it’s that peace of mind, knowing that there’s a plethora of support behind our members, that make the membership worth it’s weight in gold

Benefits of The Celebrant Society

Innovative Learning

You have access to regular virtual and in-person training, eBooks, on-line sessions, in-person activities, and so much more. We cover everything from website design to social media, accounting, contracts, SEO, wellness, creativity, upcoming trends and self-care.

Virtual Water Cooler

Our closed Facebook Group is a sanctuary for members to take a break from their virtual offices and have a chat, crack a bad joke or whinge about their procrastination without judgement. Well, with minimal judgement.

Directory Listing

All members receive a free directory listing which helps them promote their business.  Check it out here!

Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance

Insurance: not necessarily the most exciting part of being a celebrant, but it’s one of those things that if you need it, you’ll thank the insurance gods for having it.  All our members are covered with Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance.  Let’s hope you’ll never need it, but it’s there if you do.

Virtual Get -Togethers

Our members live far and wide in Australia (and beyond – hello UK celebrants!), so we run virtual get-togethers, including monthly newby zooms, Celebrant Conversations which cover specific topics such as accounting, MCing, branding, and many others, plus virtual coffee or cocktails.  No need to feel alone, no matter where you’re located.

In Person Get-Togethers

For those who are located in, or near, most major Australia cities, we offer in person get-togethers to celebrate days like ‘Christmas in July’, ‘International Celebrant Day’, ‘Christmas’ or just… well, because.  Previous events have included coffee catch up, paint and sip, cake making, floral crown session, branding sessions, head-shot days, make-up lessons, picnics, and so much more.

Annual Conference

A two-day celebrant conference which covers a wide-range of topics to help your celebrant career grow, dappled with a healthy dose of networking, laughter and fun, this conference is subsidised for our wonderful members.

Closed Facebook Group

One of our most popular resources is our closed Facebook Group.  Here, this moderated group is a safe space for members to ask questions, share leads, provide and give support, request workshops, and so much more.  It’s our favourite Facebook Group, and is very active, averaging five posts a day.

Community Over Competition within our Celebrant Network

Whether you’re a celebrant just starting your journey or experienced but looking to grow, becoming a member of The Celebrant Society may boost your career and provide a feeling of community.
