Well, let's start with what got us here.

About half a decade ago, two wedding celebrants – that’s ‘officiants’ for some of you – met and bonded over a mutual love of cocktails, dancing, and basic respect for their fellow human beings.

Together they decided to lead a movement in their industry called The Celebrant Society. This professional association and its members massively changed the Celebrancy world in Australia by improving the job satisfaction of sole traders. How? Well, we created an online ‘virtual’ workplace – a platform for the change leaders of our industry to stand together and shout their message –

"Community over Competition"

And now?

After nearly a decade, five hugely successful conferences, a membership of hundreds of amazing wedding professionals and a seat at the table of the Australian Government to influence the rules and regulations of marriage law, The Wedding Society are moving beyond celebrants to help the entire wedding industry grow together to create kick ass businesses for themselves and their awesome couples through our wedding directory, The Wedding Society.

Georgie is a marriage celebrant and kick ass reformer pilates instructor. She is the brains of the operation, a graduate of The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and has almost 20 years of experience as an actress, performer and presenter represented by Cameron’s Management. Georgie loves a game of Wordle, a good strong cup of tea with a thin-lipped cup, and getting to marry awesome couples across Australia.

Gazza was an electrician but loved his wedding so much he downed tools and became a marriage celebrant, and now leads The Wedding Society with his incredible wife Georgie. He is a graduate of The National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) and now has over fifteen years experience as a presenter, host, speaker, and actor represented by Shanahan Management. Gary is a jolly larrikin, who loves chatting weddings, small business development, and SEO.
